MARCUS RAY TATE, 22, PLAYED BY HAYLEYwell hello! firstly I'm looking for jac's cousin. you'll have to bear with me on this, because a lot of the details about him are almost completely open so this is going to be quite ambiguous. I referred to him as marshall in my app but you can disregard that completely if you want. age wise he should be at least one year older than jac, but not too old. I'd suggest twenty-five as the ideal but anything less than twenty-seven is good with me. his play-by is open as is his secret, if you just ran both past me first then that would be fabulous. his history is pretty open, there are just a few vague points that I already have in place from jac's app: she's from money, but I didn't specify whether it was from her mom or dad's side (or which side he comes from) so that's up to you; jac often came down to brunswick from new york to visit marshall her aunt and/or uncle, maybe vice versa and finally, he is the one who convinced her to leave her scumbag ex-boyfriend in new york and now they live together. you may want to have a little scan of jac's app in case there's anything i forgot to mention but if there's anything minor you really don't like, feel free to ignore it. I should also mention that they're extremely close and have been since childhood, they're more like brother and sister than cousins. they always kept in close contact between her visits. marshall knows her better than anybody but there are times when even he struggles to figure her out as she can be very secretive and cryptic. he doesn't know about her depression, he just thinks she was on a downer whilst she was in new york due to her boyfriend that she hasn't dealt with completely yet. and... yeah! that's mostly all I ask for him. ideally i'd like him to be quite cheerful and friendly, gets along with everybody and even manages to bring out the relaxed, happier side of jac. definitely goofy so they share a similar sense of humor and level-headed so he can be the voice of reason when her temper gets out of hand. i imagine he'd want to protect jac from any more potential asshole boyfriends but would struggle with this because he's not the fighting type. take him and run with him! if you have any questions just ask and thank you in advance.<3
(if this doesn't make sense, I apologise in advance, but I really hope that it does.) here we have Blake, which is just his name for the purpose of this want ad. basically: he's twenty-three to twenty-fiveish, college student or a local, open job, his play-by is Blake Harnage. I'm afraid that's non-negotiable. his secret is also completely open so feel free to run with that. before I continue I'm going to say that there are two ways that you could take this character in. at first I had him down as somebody new she meets in Brunswick who eventually becomes her best friend and bandmate. that option is still open. however, as there are so many pictures of them at younger ages, I've also been toying with the idea that he's somebody from her past. she was in a band when she was in high school in New York, things were going well and everybody thought that they actually had a shot at success. there were some amazing things in the pipeline that could have created a lot of opportunities for them until they all suddenly split ways due to mostly unforseen circumstances. if he was one of these guys and he turned up in Brunswick, it could create some fabulous drama. it doesn't matter whether his reason for leaving the band directly relates to how he ended up in Brunswick, as long as Jac got left behind in NYC and he now lives here. basically losing the band was not so much the cause but the tipping point for her gradual spiral into her secret depression and the events that followed. either by accident or on purpose she lost contact with them all and hasn't seen any of them since. he would have been her best friend, which would have been a big deal considering her lack of family (bar Mark). they would have understood each other better than anybody else. plus: there was the small issue that she had feelings for him and he had a girlfriend she didn't get along with. and maybe those feelings were reciprocated despite his girlfriend. bit of an awkward situation at the time, as you can imagine. this second idea has become the more preferred option as I have developed their backstory a lot, but obviously I'll explain all of this to anybody interested in him as opposed to spamming it here. (how this will affect the present situation rests on the outcome a plot Jac already has, but this can be discusses. Blierra are just too adorable to be ignored and I wantedbthe possibility to be known to anybody interested).
there are some details which may need to be changed depending on which plot you go for, though those can be fine-tuned later if needs be. nothing here is set in stone, but I was thinking that he has quite a big family and they're all really close to each other just because it's the complete opposite to Jac's home situation. I'd quite like his personality may be quite contrasting to hers also. Jacqueline is very loud and brash, stubborn, opinionated and often does before she thinks. so i'd quite like Blake to be more reserved... not shy, but he doesn't really care about being the center of attention. he's like the quiet genius who somehow understands the innerworkings of Jacqueline's crazy brain - she could say something completely random and he would understand, when she's spewing ideas all over the place, he manages to summarise what she's saying into something more... comprehendable to normal human beings. he's not a pushover by any means but he often lets Jac take the wheel because he knows she has a lot of crazy ideas so he lets her run with them to see what happens or what adventures they can find themsevles in. they bring out the best in each other creatively and some nice cheesy stuff like that~ overall, he's just a genuine, decent kind of guy. they're were/are going to be the yin to the other's yang and be superbestfriends, although this will take a little bit of time as Jac hasn't been in Brunswick long. or, she's going to have an extremely mixed reaction to seeing him again and either fall straight into the old pattern or be really on guard that he's going to disappear again, I haven't really decided. eventually they will build their friendship back up (and potentially more, again depending on plots~) and form another band with hopes to achieve the goals that fell through the first time. as well as a ton of other drama we could conjure up! to do with their secrets and goodness knows what else. (oh yeah, she's depressed and wholly in denial about it.)
so. thank you for reading through this waffle -hands cookie- if you have any questions just ask, either here or via my aim which is phoebeshelbyy and i adore anybody who wants to fill this!
