THOMPSON TWENTY-NINE | HETEROSEXUAL | HEAD CHEF | TOWNSFOLK | KAREN GILLAN THE INTERVIEW HELLO. THANKS FOR COMING IN TODAY. SHALL WE START WITH YOUR NAME? after tucking her hair behind her ear the redhead smiled and spoke in reply to the question. "hey. i'm ronnie, short for veronica." she seemed to be in a bit of a hurry, but it wasn't something that she as going to let show easily "veronica thompson." she added quickly, making sure that she was confused with another veronica that they may have had in that day. THAT'S A NICE NAME. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING? a rather large grin came to her face as she was asked about what she did for a living, she loved her job and didn't want to do anything else. "i'm a chef, the head chef actually, at one of the fancy restaurants in brunswick." she wasn't going to mention that the restaurant was owned by her sister, the sister that she didn't really get along with all to well. "i can't imagine myself doing anything else for a living." she added with a small smile. she was feeling a little awkward and it was shown in her voice, it was a little shaky. really she was confused as to why she had to do this interview and why she had to answer these questions. INTERESTING. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN? something of an excited look came to the redhead's face as she had to opportunity to list off a few of the things that she enjoyed doing. "well there's baking, i love baking cakes and muffins and cookies and all sorts of things." she really was an avid baker, on her days off she would often bake a cake or three for her husband and anyone else who she felt needed one, like her best friend. "i like to shop, that's pretty funf or me. not for clothes and stuff though, but i do love that too, but i enjoy shopping for little things for the kitchen or for around the house." she was often found out and about in the mall buying new things for her kitchen, new pots and new cookie cutters among other things. "anything done with my husband is fun in my books, he's a great man." she paused for a moment, lost in thought, before continuing. "i like going out with my friends, i don't drink but they do and it's always a blast being a sober being amongst the drunks. life is just great, i try to make everything i do fun." she finished up with a grin on her face. WOULD YOU SAY THOSE ACTIVITIES REFLECT WHO YOU ARE? she didn't even ponder her answer and she pretty much blurted it out, "of course. i'm a fun loving girl who enjoys life, what more is there to know." it was just the tip of the ronnie iceberg. she was indeed a fun loving girl who loved life, but there was a lot more to her, like the fact that she was a creative being which caused her cakes and other baked good to be decorated amazingly. she was also dedicated to everything she did, no matter how small or large. she speaks her mind when she feels that it's appropriate, which often means that she'll tell customers off because they want everything to be to perfection. she is a strong believer in the idea that perfection doesn't exist, she has never strived for it and does her best to ensure that the people close to her don't. her friends are super important to her and she believes that you shouldn't keep any secrets from them and that your partner should be your closest friend, that's why her marriage is going so well. she is incredibly optimistic, she tells people that their life will always get better when they think it won't, she is full of optimism and happiness, considering. "what's next?" she asked with enthusiasm in her voice. she always seemed to be enthusiastic about everything, especially when it involved anything that she enjoyed doing, and as soon as this little interview was done she was off to lunch with her best friend, that was definitely something to be enthusiastic about. A COOL CAT LIKE YOU MUST HAVE A TON OF SUITORS FLOCKING TO YOU, HUH? a slightly disappointed look came to her face as she looked at the interviewer. "i'm a little married." she said whiel holding up her left hand and wiggling her fingers to show off the wedding ring that was most likely now stuck on her finger, the redhead had never made an attempt to take it off, ever since it was put on there. "i'm pretty sure i mentioned the husband before." she shook her head softly with the thought of her husband in her head, she really did love him, he was her everything, more or less. it was safe to say that she was not going to be looking for romance any time soon, she had it stuck in her head that she was never going to be looking for it again. COOL BEANS. THEY SAY YOUR FAMILY SHAPES WHO YOU ARE. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOURS? she shook her head again, "cool beans." she said simply, she wasn't going to elaborate on it nor was she going to fixate on the fact that someone had used the term cool beans in her presence. "i love my family." most of them anyway. she didn't get along with her sister, the same sister that owned the restaurant where she worked. there was a stage earlier in her life where she didn't talk to any of her family, but that was all over and they were a happy little family, most of the time. AND YOUR LIFE? TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PAST. I'M EAGER TO HEAR. shaking her head she spoke, "i'm sorry but i don't understand how this has anything to do with why i'm here." she paused for a moment, tucking a few strands of her auburn hair behind her ear. "honestly i though we were just going to talk about this stupid cancer thing." she crossed her arms and looked the interviewer in the eyes, she was returned a harsh look and she let out a sigh. "okay, okay." ronnie ran a hand through her hair, brushing it back so that it was away from her face. "i was born here in brunswick, i was a rebellious teen and now i'm me. i don't know what else to say, how can this be important here?" she refused to say anything more about her past. it wasn't as simple as she had put it, everything she had said was in fact the truth, she was born in brunswick and she was a rebellious teen but there was more than just those simple facts. let's start from the beginning, her parents were thrilled to finally have a second child, they had already been blessed with a daughter but they were thrilled to have another. they had hoped that the two would be friends, there were only two years between them, but alas the pair never really got along and fought from a young age. in all honesty, nothing really happened during her childhood, it was all fairly bland. it was when she hit her teenage years where her life got interesting. it was in her first week of high school where she met her two best friends, they kind of just bonded and they became something of an awesome trio of friends. ronnie managed to get herself mixed up in drugs and rebellion during that first year of high school. her parents didn't approve, as any good parent wouldn't, and she was kicked out of her home. she wasn't completely at a loss though because one of her best friends offered his floor for her to crash on until she found a place, but she ended up staying there until they finished high school, and then she married him but that's a story for later on. the craziest thing about this time of her life was that her other best friend lost his parents, they died in a tragic car accident, and he was taken in by ronnie's parents. it was all a very strange and confusing thing for the people around them. not long after she had finished high school she got a job as a waitress at a local cafe, she worked her butt off for a year before she found herself a job at one of the fancy restaurants in town, she was still a waitress but she was moving up in the hospitality world. around the same time that happened she made up with her family, she had been drug free for six months and she was willing to give her family a chance to take her back in so they could be a happy family once more. they were more than okay with it and since then ronnie has gotten along well with all of her family, except her sister who for some reason hates her. over the next five years ronnie made her way up thrugh the ranks and such at the restaurant that she worked at, dedicating herself to being the very best that she could be. after the five years she was appointed the head chef position and she couldn't have been happier. it wasn't too long after this that she begun dating her best friend, the one that she had lived with during her high school years. she was twenty-six when she had a miscarriage, but it's not something that she talks about and the only people who really know about it are her husband and best friend as they were keeping the pregnancy quiet until it wasn't possible for such a thing to be kept hidden. she was heartbroken that she wasn't going to be a mother, but she told herself that one day in the future she will have the chance again. she married the love of her life in september of last year, it was a beautiful ceremony involving a white horse drawn carriage, it was truly a fairytale wedding. it was the best day of her life and she ensures that no-one ever forgets it by having placed pictures from the day all over her house. her honeymoon was magical too, but i don't think anyone wants details on that one, a honeymoon was a private matter after all. when she got back she was hit with the news that her sister had bought the restaurant where she worked, ronnie was all ready to be fired but it didn't happen, her sister simply told her to keep doing things as she already was, since then ronnie has pretty much been running the restaurant, which she is more than okay with. it was a few months ago, at the start of may, that her world was turned upside down and tossed around a few times, in other words her life was shaken up pretty well. she was told that she has pancreatic cancer, it's extremely rare for someone her age as it's usually elderly folk that get it. when she was told that there's a very low survival rate she burst into tears, she had always been full of optimism and happiness, the news that she was probably going to die sooner than she had hoped hit her hard, she didn't know what to do and is yet to tell anyone. to this day she goes about her day to day life pretending that nothing is wrong, going to a specialist for her cancer. it's only a matter of time before certain people start to notice things. "so what's next?" What about a secret? Everyone has a secret. with a frown she let out a sigh, "of course i have a secret, but i'd rather it stay a secret. my lips are sealed." she moved her hand across her lips as if she was zipping them closed. she did in fact have a secret, more than one really. there was the fact that she lost her virginity when she was twelve to a twenty year old. there was also that little overdose she had when she was seventeen, only her two high school best friends know about that. but neither of those are even close to being her biggest secret, that one would have to be the fact that she had this cancer. she hasn't told anyone, not even her husband and best friend, she doesn't want to worry them. her and her husband have also been talking about children, how was she supposed to bear a child when her body was undergoing both cancer and cancer treatment, thought she is seriously considering not getting the treatment due to the fact that there is a very low survival rate. she just doing know how to break the news to those that she cares about and those that she knows care about her. the redhead seemed to be getting a little impatient, "come on then, next." in truth she was getting annoyed with this interview. she felt that it was pointless and a little invasive, she was hoping that it was almost over. ALRIGHT. TIME'S ALMOST UP. TELL ME ABOUT YOUR DREAMS. QUICK! a small smile came to her lips as she thought about her dreams, her hopes for the future. "honestly, i'd love to be alive." she paused for a second and a single tear ran down her cheek. "alive and the mother of two lovely children. that's where i want to be in five years." thoughts of the future made her rather emotional these days, it was something that she had always thought of but now it seemed that she mightn't have a future and it pained her to know that she'd be most likely leaving the people she loved more than anything. she didn't want them to be miserable. AND THAT'S A WRAP. IT WAS NICE GETTING TO KNOW YOU. a relieved look came onto her face, "oh good." she said with a sigh. "this was great but i need to go, got a date with a great guy." she smiled and was quick to run out the door. BEHIND THE MASK HAYLEY | 21 | GMT+9:30 | CRAWLED OUT OF THE GROUND | TOO MANY |
