ABOUT this is jacqueline! she's a twenty-three year-old waitress who hasn't been in brunswick very long. she had some trouble with her dad and a now-ex boyfriend back home in new york so she ran away to live with her cousin for a new start... though they weren't the only reasons, there was also a ton of other crap before that. however, she's very secretive about a lot (read: most) of the details and is likely blow off any enquiries with something about needing a change. she grew up on the upper east side but hated it. since moving she has vowed not to touch her dad's money and got a job waitressing instead. nobody knows that she comes from money. she's secretly dealing with currently-undiagnosed depression and the fact that she had such a good upbringing makes her feel guilty for not feeling satisfied. her dream is to become the vocalist of a band and she's determined for it to happen one day - she was on the way to achieving the goal when it crumbled under her feet, as well as her relationship with her bestest friend at the time. she has a very, well, interesting personality sometimes. she's a little bit crazy and very unpredictable. FRIENDS there will be quite a few of these, of varying degrees. she's a confident little thing most of the time so she's bound to have a lot of acquaintances. she can't handle being inside for more than a day so she constantly goes out and tries to find something to do, I can imagine her meeting quite a few people this way. she's a waitress so she'll have co-workers and people she met on the job. jac happily hangs out with girls and guys, she can have some rather unladylike/tomboyish ideas so it's likely any extreme girly-girls would freak her out a little. drinking/party buddies? yes please. she never drinks herself into oblivion (well, not anymore) but she doesn't mind a good party. every friday night she sings at an open mic night in a bar which people may have seen her at. she sings, plays piano and writes songs so musician friends would be lovely! jacqueline can be pretty spontaneous and have some crazy ideas, she needs some fun-filled friends to help her pull pranks and to go on crazy adventures with. she's a little bit quirky which people could either love or loathe. it takes some time/effort to be an extremely close friend of hers but she still needs friends/good friends/close friends. she's very loyal, tries to be there whenever is physically possible and helps out in the best way she can, whether it be offering advice that can vary greatly in usefulness or offering them to come stay with her. she also gets very protective of her friends and, given her temper, you really don't want to mess with them. FOES are a definite possibility. jac is opinionated, subborn and pugnacious so she's bound to rub somebody up the wrong way. she respects other peoples' views as long as they return the compliment, but if you tell her she's wrong without allowing her to explain she won't be very impressed. she sticks up for her friends and what she believes in, verbally... and, sometimes physically. she has a very short temper which she can find hard to control if you push her hard enough. i can imagine there being some people who like to try and provoke her on purpose just to irritate her? anybody who pushes too hard to try and find out about her past are never a good thing either. maybe somebody caught her on a bad day and she made a bad first impression that they hold against her. obviously there will be people who simply just can't take to her... sometimes she gets a little bit too overexcited and crazy which people might not take well. she also likes to dance on the roof of her apartment building and sing very loudly at all hours so... people who live in the same block as her would be hilarious but I don't know how many of them there would/wouldn't be around. LOVERS is a bit of a funky one in my opinion. she's only been in brunswick for a few months so there won't really be any past relationships unless they were brief flirtations/flings during her visits to see family. she's also got a future in line very soon so it really just leaves one-sided types of things. they aren't finals but I'm currently uncertain what's going to happen with her after that. I don't think she would have really hooked up with anybody during her time here but if any guys flirted with her she might have flirted back a little, even if she wasn't interested, and unintentionally lead them on just a little bit. ruby tuesday thompson
tuesday. 18. high schooler. single. sweetheart. bisexual.
ABOUT here we have ruby tuesday, but please, call her tuesday. only her mother calls her ruby. she's an eighteen year old who just started her senior year. somehow she's managed to make it this far in life without drinking, smoking or even being kissed. but that's hardly a secret. believe it or not this young lady has been a pageant princess since around the age of five. she lost interest in it a long time ago but she continues to take part because her mother wants her to, and she is incapable of saying no to anybody she cares about. in reality she's very boyish and sporty. she recently found her life's passion in the form of roller derby and has been taking part in secret for some time. she's frightened stiff about what her mother would do if she found out as she's pretty strict with tuesday because of the pageants. when she doesn't have pageant or derby commitments, she works in her dad's motorbike shop as well as playing soccer and yoga and taking extra classes and... she rarely has a day off.
FRIENDS tuesday is one of the nicest people you could meet and she'll talk to anybody who seems friendly so there are likely to be quite a few in this category. i don't think age would really bother her as she talks to such a variety of people whilst she's working. there are more likely to be a lot of guy friends than girls. she's not against having female friends but depending on the company she's in sometimes finds herself feeling out of place and at a loss with what to talk about. but maybe that could be taken in a completely opposite direction and form some really unusual/unexpected friendships! she was born in australia and didn't move to america until five but has been in brunswick since, so childhood friends are a definite possibility, or at least people she's known for a seriously long time. anybody she's befriended around school or in her dad's shop would be a good basis for friendship. any kind of drinking/party buddies is highly unlikely as she's not really into that kind of thing. her idea of a night out is to go see a local band, grab some food on the way home and climb into bed and she's happy. i think i've covered most of the bases there...? maybe some fake friends who like to manipulate her for amusement because she can be kind of naive, it's a side of her i haven't had much chance to pursue yet. oh. there's also a huge want ad coming for some more derby teammates soon.
FOES tuesday is almost always in a state of constant optimism. she's always happy. silver linings and rose tinted spectacles - things will always get better. of course, as much as this could be reason for some people to love her, i can imagine some people would hate it. her innocence and naivety tend to come across in very childish tendencies, some days you'd almost think she still believed in santa. a lot of hate would probably be pretty one-sided unless they were seriously offhand with her and made no attempt of hiding the fact they didn't like her. then she would just think they were an asshole and stop bothering. roller derby is quite an aggressive contact sport but outside of the track she doesn't have a mean or violent bone in her body. however, if somebody got her really worked up, i don't think it would be impossible for it to come out and play... she will defend her friends, especially any younger ones within the high school. i also like the idea of somebody (or it could have been a group?) she used to be really close friends with, probably girls, who turned popular and bitchy and all the usual cliché. they stopped being friends with tuesday and now like to pick on her. take it and run! i'm open to ideas.
