WALKER NINETEEN| HETEROSEXUAL | (CASUAL) HOSTESS | TOURIST | LILY COLLINS the last thing that she can remember was a fire. she remembered having been extremely hot, she recalled kicking her blankets off to solve the problem and then the sound of cracking foundation and then nothing—she was ten. anything before that was knocked out of her when she was hit with a broken ceiling during a house fire. the girl had to start her life over from the basics. the first memory she has would be waking up with her mother on one side in a hospital bed and her father across the hall in his own room. she could not remember her name, what town she lived in or even the year. ten years vanished from her existence. relearning everything while still healing, it was though eating, drinking and communicating were like riding a bike and she caught on quickly, recalling how to use the utensils like a civilized person. her progress was far better than her parents who suffered from the smoke and the heat while battling the fallen beams in their enflamed residence. the structure had been sound but in a moment's notice, a cigarette butt being thrown to the ground was the cost of three lives drastically changing. cassidy had to be reminded through photos, visits from her friend and just hope that they were all the truth. she questioned some of the stories that were being told to her, but one that she never did was a sweet, young boy claiming to love her. ten years old, starting over and in love. her parents put a quick end to that one but it was a nice feeling for a moment. her parents helped to jog her memory too as their physical bodies were affected while their mental states were stable. there was not a few minutes passing without either or mother or father saying that they loved her. they got out of the house first, a fact that cassidy would never know. they did not have the hear to explain how selfish they had been for most of her life but they made up for it in the next nine years of her life. they cherished her, loved her, protected her and cassidy was quick to gain the familiar feeling of love for the two people who shared her eyes and nose. the burn victim sector was where the family started from and for three months after. cassidy had a lot of burns on her arms and legs from the heat of the fire that raged in her room but she did not remember waking up and has no actual idea of how she got out. she believes it's most likely the work of a firefighter who was at the scene, someone that she could not thank enough. she healed, but the faint scars are still there, bumps of skin are still risen and she is very much a burn victim. fire scares her but not a lighter though she will tense up, seeing someone with a cigarette does not bother her but campfires, bonfires, and even firefighters being at a scene scare her. she kind of hates that she cannot remember the first ten years of her life but sometimes she gets a flashback, her memory having been slowly returning much to her parents distaste. they had been so good to her after almost losing her but cassidy's first ten years of life rarely involved the involvement of her parents. nannies raised her, or her grandmother, but they do not want to her to know that but she is coming up with memories day by day and the truth will come out eventually. nearly losing your life at such a young age would mean that caution and slow steps would need to be taken but cassidy, she developed her own method of how to take control of her life. she takes things day by day, not letting too much get to her but she is far from lazy. her worries these days are taking care of her ill grandmother who was forced into the bed as the cancer spread from her chest, immobilizing her to a degree. to almost losing her family in a fire, days, weeks, years following, cassidy has learned to appreciate what she has. she is humble in her thoughts about her life, never asking for more than what she has and never expecting anything more. she is growing to be independent, standing up on her own two feet as she is now in a place where her parents are not watching over her all the time, away from her hometown, and into a place that she has yet to get to know. most of the time, she is spending her extra time doing chores. laundry, dishes, and even the occasional gardening though she basically kills any plant that she touches. in her free time, cassidy is more of a night owl these days. she is scared to wake up and find that her grandmother has passed on, the doctors only giving her a few more months. end of summer is the expectant time in which cassidy will pick her life back up and continue on in her studies. until that day occurs, she is working small shifts at a restaurant as a hostess on days that her grandmother feels well enough to be on her own for five to six hours. the woman is stubborn which is a trait that cassidy has and does not have. her own beliefs are strongly stood by but changing another's mind is not her forte. she cannot fight for her own opinion but it does not mean that she lacks one. reliable in all aspects, the girl is punctual but not organized. she might be able to meet someone at the exact time, even five minutes early but if asked to find a document or a sweater, the girl will be at a complete loss. for how much cleaning she does, it's amazing to see the house in as much as a disarray as it is. rarely are the times that cassidy remembers something but the smallest of things can trigger them. sound of rain, the smell of the ocean, even a person's clothing can bring her back into her own mind and unravel the secrets. she remembers her grandmother more than her parents, she recalls face of a woman who is not her mother. she knows her parents are hiding something but respects them enough to believe that they will tell her. she does not see the good in everyone and knows that the world is not going to be kind but she has no negative associations with how her future is going to be, it just scares her is all. cassidy has been rather sheltered, private schools, tutors, exclusive country club entries, her money has allowed her a life that many would dream of but she is not greedy or selfish, losing your life would do that to a person. she values the small things, sunsets, the stars, jumping off a large rock. she wants to go on an adventure but too scared to step out of the only world that has known. a typical girl next door look, she has the personality to match as well. attempting to befriend or at least be civil with anyone that she meets. constantly stuck in the friend zone, cassidy is not too experienced or too interested in a physical aspect of a relationship until she can emotionally connect with the person. the fact that she waits to hold hands puts guys off and she is often the girl that boys come for advice, not to court. due to her ability to converse with boys better, she is sometimes a tomboy in the aspect of her personality. she does not mind getting down and dirty on a soccer field but she will be the first person to go home and wash her clothes of the stains later that day. a tomboy cinderella, cassidy has little intentions of getting close to anyone in this town as by the end of summer, she plans to be gone.
